Twelve Twelves?

So, today on Ravelry there was a discussion in the Stashdown group about what challenges we're going to have next year, and one of our REALLY optimistic members suggested finishing 12 12s in 2012.  I should not encounter such wild ideas while having morning coffee, because after having convinced myself that 12 sweaters would be totally doable, it isn't too much of a stretch for me to make it exponentially harder.  Just in theory (sort of), what if I did:

1.  12 sweaters
2.  12 Christmas ornaments
3.  12 embroidered towels
4.  12 hats
5.  12 place mats
6.  12 gift bags
7.  12 pen sleeves
8.  12 washcloths
9.  12 sewing WIPS
10. 12 chair covers/decorations
11. 12 coasters
12.

One more category....sewing would be a good idea, or maybe 12 scarves, some of which could be sewing?

Too crazy?  By which I of course mean, too crazy for ME even?

I think scarves are a good idea, since you seem to be a big fan of making them, anyway -- especially lace ones. I don't think you'll be able to resist making any next year, so you had best make them a category. In other news, do you realize that's 144 projects?

I know--isn't that frightening? 144 is way out there--though in the past I've used 2 towels as a project as well as 2 washcloths, and if I make a really easy one be 12 coasters (which would normally be 2 projects), it's a LITTLE less crazy......though not much.

I would never say any project was too crazy for you. :)

I suppose 12 socks would be pushing it right over the edge, eh? Gaidig is right- you're going to do scarves anyway, you should get credit.

12 pairs of mittens?
12 pairs of socks? Knit One Knit All has a sock pattern that does not involve turning heels

The last 12 could be "12 whatever-the-heck Toni wants to knit." You know, knitter's choice. Good luck with this, crazy lady. If anyone can do it, you can.

You know, if it ends up being basically 144 projects, you will be doing the same exact challenge as this year and years past, except now you've upped the number to incredible proportions. I think the 12 sweaters in 12 months would be something entirely different for you AND use up the chunks in your stash versus the odd ball here and there. I love the idea of doing 12 projects of 12, though. I mean, that's a cool thing, even though I'd end up making 144 dishcloths or something dumb like that (due to lack of time). Go the 12 sweater route!
