Um.....

So, the front of the cowl-neck sweater is one inch PAST where I'm supposed to divide for the neck:
which, by my calculations, would be approximately just above my belly button.

Okay.........

Now, not that I'm a prude or anything, but there's a difference between wearing a low-cut sweater and just standing for a picture....
and wearing a low cut sweater in real life....and the odds are pretty good that the difference would involve randomly flashing people.  So, I'm thinking I want to add a few inches before the neck.  Maybe 3? 4?

Hmmm, dilemma. I agree, shorten that neck opening just a bit.
A little modesty would be the best bet. Cute sweater though.

I guess it depends how you're going to wear it. It's the sort of thing that I would wear a turtleneck or other shirt underneath, in which case it's not a problem, really. As pictured, though - no, not for moving in...

You could rename it "belly-button line" of course, instead of neckline, and be done with it :-)

Actually, from the picture, it looks like there is a fair amount of ribbing that comes in/up before the actual opening. It seems like it only shows her sternum rather than her belly button. Still, I probably would have looked at the picture and thought, "I'm not wearing something with a neckline that low."

Don't forget that when you bring the cowl up toward your actual neck, there should be fewer stitches around the neckline to account for the fact that it is shorter.

My first thought would be that if you were going to wear that without a shirt underneath, you'd probably find it really easy to get a date. And my next thought was that where I live, you'd be adding new body parts to the list 'places I would least like to get frostbite'.

Yeah, I'd probably move the neckline up. Or wear a shirt underneath.
