Um......

I think it might be an addiction.....
Theo can no longer stand the sight of cotton dishcloths...Are there knitting interventions????

On the sewing front, I decided that if indeed I need to take a break from a sewing project because of fatigue from the surgery, that would qualify as a "darn good reason," so I have ventured into the tablecloth project. I think all the strips are cut out for a "rail fence" layout, and now I just need to decide if the black or the green looks best next to the strawberry print:
One moment I like the black better, then the next minute it's the green. The green actually matches MUCH better than it looks like it does in the picture. Earlier today I was leaning toward the green, but now I'm back to the black. I do NOT remember them mentioning indecision as part of the surgery recovery process!!!!

Thoughts?

So long as it's an addiction that uses up the stash, there's no need for an intervention. Personally, I think I like the black next to the pattern best; it has more punch, more contrast. though if we're still following this week's pattern, that mean's you've decided it's the other, hands-down, by now.

I agree with Alison: no need to worry about this sort of addiction, if you end up with less stash. And I also prefer the black next to the strawberries.

And recovering from surgery is probably the best reason you will ever have to take things easy with your self-imposed rules on the sewing and knitting front!

I agree- no need for an intervention until you run out of cotton yarn and start thinking about buying more. Then, yeah, maybe. (You aren't in any danger of running out of cotton yarn, are you?)

And I'd have the same trouble deciding about the quilt- they both look great.

I also say the black next to the strawberries. Not because the fabrics look better together (though they do look good) but because that way the black stays a continuous zig zag, and the other way it's broken up. The continuous line looks better to my eye...

Well, if you make the cloths a but longer you can call the burp cloths or bigger they can be placemats or sew a bunch together and you've got an afghan. There's no end to the possibilities! I personally like making cotton squares, its great therapy. (and Chief likes to help!)
