Never Start a Project While On Pain Killers

So.....in my last post I blithely mentioned making the tablecloth 10 squares by 18 squares. Now, I'd like to think that in normal circumstances it would have dawned on me that 10 times 18 would mean 180 squares, but in this case, it did not. It didn't hit me until last night. 180 squares!!! I don't even have the material for that (Dana, I might be buying your material after all), and considering I've made something like 70 blocks now, I may not have the strength.

180!!!!!!
Sure, I love how it looks, but 180!!!!!!

Aside from washcloths, I have been knitting the shawl for my mother's retirement (a year ago now):It's making progress, and I was just beginning to get frustrated thinking I should have used up at least one 440 yard ball of lace yarn by now, when it dawned on me--this yarn is in 880 yard skeins. In fact, I specifically bought it BECAUSE of the larger skeins because it meant fewer joins.

Really, I swear I did not have a lobotomy when I went in for surgery. It just seems like I did.....

Ah, but the tablecloth is gorgeous! And with that block pattern, you have to be strip quilting, right? 180 blocks- you'll be done in no time. (Er, with enough fabric, I mean.)

And the shawl- I think you were incredibly clever to avoid ends. And think of the vast quantities of yardage you're adding to your totals.

Repeat after me, "I meant to do that." :)

Just tell me where to send it. And, considering I purchased it for curtains for a house I don't even live in any more--no payment necessary.

Loving the shawl! How much further do you have to go?

I'm not even mentioning the 180 blocks.....

Oh I could have told you that = ) I hurt my back couple of months ago and my dr has me on some heavy duty pain meds and well the things I have done while knitting were laughable. =)

I am catching up on blog reading and want to say I am glad you are feeling better and hope it continues that way
=)

180 blocks!!! WOW is all I have to say. I am making quilts for my kids as part of christmas and the first one has 24 hourglass blocks in it and that is enough for me! I can not imagine 180!!
