Er...um...I Still Had Some Cash With Me......

This followed me home from the yarn store......
But in my defense, I didn't buy yarn, and I bought the magazine for this pattern
which will use yarn I already have.

And I learned one very important lesson yesterday:

Yarn diets are all fine and dandy, but it's easier to behave oneself in a yarn store if one only has $10.37 in one's pocket.

I do not think it counts at all =) You bought it to use yarn in your stash. Perfectly OK

I fell down at the yarn store earlier today. I went in to get some 40+ inch circs in size 000, size 0 and size 1, for sock knitting. I have lots of sock yarn from a spree this same time last year, but haven't used any of it. Knitting my current pair of socks has shown me that I need needles smaller than the size 2 I'm using now. While there, I found 3 skeins of sock yarn that I had to have. BTW, the store didn't have the needles I wanted and had to order them, so I'll have to go back in a week or so to get those. What a shame!

I totally agree with Qutecowgirl. You found a way to use your stash and help support your LYS.
Love that pattern - it's in my queue too.

Patterns should be allowable- they're enabling you to use up more stash yarn, right? Right.

And I had to stop by Joann's the other day (for some elastic and jeans iron-on patches, and a seam ripper, which I've been swearing for years I needed to get), and happened into the yarn dept (nowhere near the notions, but I'm easily disoriented in craft stores) and found that they've just started carrying sock yarn.

Which I totally would have refrained from telling you, except that you're less of a sock addict than I am and can therefore likely resist. (Plus you're also staying away from fabric so you won't even go in...)
