Fanfare! Fanfare!!!!!

OK, that would have been much more effective if I knew how to add sounds to a blog--and didn't find them annoying.

I have used over 100 balls of yarn this year!!!!!

101 to be precise, since I'm knitting the two sleeves simultaneously.
They'll be shaped for a raglan-style sleeve, and why the designer didn't attach them at that point and finish as one piece is anyone's guess. I started this sweater--formerly known as the Glitterspun Sweater as I couldn't find the pattern & the actual name--long enough ago that I wouldn't necessarily have questioned the designer's directions. I know--it's hard to believe I ever had THAT problem. Oh well. I'm sure that somehow sewing seams is character building.

I tried to convince Calisto that she should be the new knitting side-kick,
but she's pretty shy about public appearances.

Theo, like many celebrities who let fame go to their heads, may have developed a drug problem--
there was a little too much catnip this morning, and he has spent most of the day comatose on the couch. If he doesn't snap out of it by then, this weekend I'll try laying out fabric to cut out a pattern. That ALWAYS gets his attention.

16,085 yards so far!!!!!

The classic reason I've seen given for knitting things in pieces as opposed to one piece, is that the seams can provide structure. I'm not sure I find that totally convincing in a raglan sleeve tho.

Love the cat pics!

So do you have to send Theo to kitty rehab? I hope not.

Congrats on the HUGE amount of yarn used this year.

Way to Go Toni, project is looking good. Are you going to modify and attach the sleeves? Or are you too far into the process already?
Calisto is a little darling, as Theo is. I agree with the catnip though, I have 3 kitties who like to play with their catnip toys, and then all are comatose, lol. Fabric and sewing usually pull at least 2 of mine out of the coma. One thinks he is still a kitten and can walk through the "hole" in the machine to visit with me. Unfortunatly he is the biggest cat we have now. Lucy just likes to lay on my ironing board and get in the way of pressing the quilt blocks.
I am totally impressed.

When I had 2 cats it was kind of fun to compare their reactions to catnip. Putty Tat would fall asleep like a little girl who'd gotten tipsy after just a few leaves, with the sprig still between her paws.

Miguel (the now 19-year old bag o' bones) behaves like a college drunk after catnip - he growls and tries to beat the crap out of anything that walks by.

Cats on drugs - it's the best.
