Know What I Need?

50-yard balls of yarn.

My main motivation in knitting has become to change the stash progress tally.

End up with a sweater? Fine. Finish some socks? Whatever. Use up another ball of yarn? Whoo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I realize that bigger balls of yarn are accounted for by the total yards used and that I am still using up stash which was SUPPOSED to be the idea, but it takes SO much longer to knit up 200-400 yards of yarn than say, 80, so I don't get to change the tally as often. And THAT has become my main focus this year. Did you see how close I am to 50 balls???????

This is what happens when "Type A" personalities knit.

Now I'm going to go find the project with the least yarn left on the skein......

Time to line up the skeins by size: smallest to largest (yardage-wise). Then start knitting! Have fun.

Maybe you can find some teeny tiny balls of yarn and then make a bunch of teeny tiny socks?
Heehee... sorry, but I'm enjoying "watching" your stash busting fun!

Hey, this could motivate you to work on projects that would otherwise languish! (I can totally relate to the tally-changing motivation.)

I would totally do the same thing!! = )
When I knit something mindless/mind numbing I like the short yardage, it does make it look like I am knitting faster. Plus the end of the ball is always something to look forward too!

Ps. The knitting gods kicked my butt on a tank I was making. Some how 10 balls was not enough (even though the gauge swatch said it would be more then enough) Of course I was so close to the end too but modesty prevails.
