An Unexplained Phenomenon

This

is a miracle of physics.  I work on it and work on it and work on it, and yet it never grows longer.  Ever.  It just exists.  And sucks up my knitting time--like a little alpaca vacuum.  We'd be looking at finished project number 30 if I hadn't stumbled across the black hole of knitting......

oh i so know how you feel right now. i'm test knitting a cardigan over on ravelry and it just keeps sucking up yarn and my time and doesn't seem to be getting any longer...it still looks like a shrug. been that way since easter....*sigh* darn black holes....

Put a marker in where you last stopped so you know how much you did for the last few minutes? I always do that to motivate myself if it doesn't seem like it's growing...

Just wait until you block this. It will turn out to be gorgeous.

Except that one day, all that yarn will be spit back out, and the scarf will suddenly be twelve feet long and you'll have to frog half of it...

Yup, lace projects do seem to be never ending, until "zap" you have finally gotten finished. It sneaks up on you. Already can see that it will be gorgeous! Keep on knitting, you'll get there.
